The Power of Flexibility

As a rule, whatever is fluid, soft and yielding
will overcome whatever is rigid and hard.

- Lao Tzu

As we finalize our procedures leading to the first day of our new operating environment on June 1, 2008, I am reminded that flexibility is one of the founding principals of our employee-owned company. In our corporate brochure we speak of how “one size fits all” never does. Success demands flexibility born of understanding, tenacity and innovation. On June 1, 2008, the employees of GreatBanc Trust Company will have completed nine months of planning, rehearsing and testing of one of the most significant changes in our company’s history. After working so long behind the scenes, we are looking forward to and are fully prepared for going live with our new trust accounting system on June 1.

Our widening scope of client service.
With our new system, your GreatBanc Trust professional will be able to deliver to you services offered at only a few of the world’s largest financial service providers. It is an exciting time for us as our company dramatically widens our scope of client service.

Best fit: now, and future.
Your financial well-being governs every decision. Our executive team researched the handful of industry-leading backroom partners. I unquestionably believe that SEI will provide the most flexible and powerful suite of services for our individual and institutional investors. SEI also has a statistically proven history with measurable rates of transaction reliability, supplying our client service teams with a versatile but powerful trust accounting framework which has set the standard for the industry and is used by more than 200 of the world’s largest financial services providers. When we go live on June 1, we will be strengthened by a staff of some of the most tenured and skilled operations professionals in the industry.

Beginning June 1, 2008, statements will be produced from our new system.
Although statements will have a new look, they will contain the same information. If you have a question, your client services representative will be happy to help explain the new format of statements and other communications.

On May 31, 2008 all accounts will have a statement produced.
If you receive monthly reports, you will receive one as usual that month. Quarterly reports, however, will consist of two statements, one with activity from April 1, 2008 to May 31, 2008, and the other for activity from June 1, 2008 to the quarter end at June 30, 2008. Annual reports, similarly, will have two statements, one with activity from the fiscal year start to May 31, 2008, and a statement for activity from June 1, 2008 to the fiscal year end.

You should download old data.
Beginning June 1, 2008, when you access your account online, you will be given a choice between accessing current statements or those prior to June 1, 2008. You should download the pre-June 1 data for your files, because the old data will be accessible only through October, 2008.

Throughout our carefully implemented transition, we have sought to minimize your inconvenience. We feel that the worth of this change will benefit you for many years to come.

Please contact your client services representative if you have questions about the new statements or our partnership with SEI.

Sincerely,

Michael Welgat
